Celtic Mandola

A large bodied Mandola, tuned a fifth below the mandolin. My Celtic mandolin has a 14th neck-to-body joint for more fretboard access, with a 17" scale length for ease of playing, especially melodies. Less bark than the popular American models, with a sweeter tone and longer sustain. A laminated back of hardwood (same as sides) and spruce gives a thickness and stiffness for projection, while the soft spruce interior lends a warmth to the tone.
